Walnut Creek Dog Owner's Group
WCDog advocates responsible dog ownership, supports off-leash dog exercise, and serves as a local educational resource to the community. WCDog works with the City of Walnut Creek's Park, Recreation and Open Space Commission in the development of an off-leash dog exercise areas. By joining the group, you are showing support for off-leash dog park locations within Walnut Creek, California.

Wag World Has Reopened
The park is located at 550 North San Carlos Drive in Heather Farms Park. To reach the park, turn onto North San Carlos from Ygnacio Valley. Follow San Carlos to the back of the park. Once it takes a sharp left turn, Wag World will be on your right side. The park is open 8:00AM on weekends and holidays.

July 4th Hints
Contra Costa County Animal Services has prepared a flyer on how to protect your dog on July 4th. Many dogs panic and run away when their hear loud noises so be prepared.

September Seminar on Dog Park Citizenship
The Seminar was a great success. We're now planning on repeating it in the fall. Highly regarded local master dog trainer Bonnie Brown-Cali, owner of Dog Dynamics , will again be the featured speaker at the seminar. Some of the topics that will be covered at this seminar arranged by WCDOG and the City of Walnut Creek include:

  • Is your dog ready for a dog park? (socialization, calming an over excited dog before you enter the park etc.)
  • Dog language (what's play what is not)
  • Dog park basic obedience for dogs
  • How to handle a dog fight
  • Dog first aid and CPR
  • Pet emergency planning
